Washington, D.C. – Listeners tuning in this morning may have noticed a new voice behind the microphone. Federal News Network is proud to announce that Terry Gerton has officially assumed the role of host for the flagship morning program, Federal Drive.
Gerton steps into the role following the remarkable 17-year tenure of Tom Temin, whose voice and leadership made Federal Drive a trusted source of daily news, analysis, and insight for the federal community.
With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in public service, leadership, and policy, Gerton brings a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to federal employees, contractors, and decision-makers. Most recently, she served as president and CEO of the National Academy of Public Administration, where she led numerous initiatives to strengthen government performance and the federal workforce.
“As the meeting point for government and industry to discuss the topics important to the mission of government, the Federal Drive host has a huge responsibility to the community and our audience,” said Jeffrey Wolinsky, Publisher. “With her resume and demeanor, Terry Gerton is a natural choice to take the baton from Tom and lead the Federal Drive into its next era.”
In addition to her work at NAPA, Gerton held senior roles in the U.S. Army and at the Departments of Defense and Labor, as well as in the private sector—experiences that will bring fresh perspective and meaningful context to the program’s coverage.
“I’m thrilled and honored to take over the Federal Drive,” said Terry Gerton. “I look forward to bringing federal workers news that they can use every day and to highlighting the important work that they do for every American everywhere.”
Tom Temin, who has hosted Federal Drive since 2010, will continue to contribute to Federal News Network as a respected voice and commentator.
Federal Drive airs live every weekday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Federal News Network and is available anytime via podcast on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and all major streaming platforms.
Federal News Network provides non-partisan coverage of federal workforce issues, management, acquisition, the Defense Department and IT, helping executives make better decisions and meet their mission goals. For more information, visit FederalNewsNetwork.com or follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook.
