Federal News Network marks 25 years of impactful journalism with anniversary campaign

Washington, D.C. – Federal News Network (FNN) celebrates 25 years of delivering in-depth analysis and timely information to the federal community. Starting as FederalNewsRadio.com in February 2000, it became the first all-news radio station dedicated to federal coverage. Over the years, FNN has evolved into a multimedia news organization that remains a trusted source for federal employees, contractors and policymakers. To mark this milestone, FNN is celebrating by showcasing the top 25 transformative moments in federal government management over the past quarter-century.

Beginning Feb. 27, FNN and WTOP will highlight one key moment every week for 25 weeks. Each story will be featured across digital, on-air and social platforms with multimedia content, including video, written and audio segments. Federal employees, contractors and other members of the federal community will have the chance to vote for their top 5 moments and share their own reflections.

The campaign culminates in a 25th Anniversary black-tie gala in October, honoring the top five impactful government moments and the agencies involved.

Key Campaign Highlights:

  • Weekly Features: Every Thursday, Federal News Network will unveil a transformative moment, along with a 90-second audio segment from an FNN reporter providing insights.
  • Dedicated Digital Hub: The landing page will centralize all campaign content and engagement opportunities.

“For 25 years, FNN has been a trusted voice chronicling policies that shape our nation,” said Jeffrey Wolinsky, publisher at FNN. “This campaign reflects on the lasting impact of these pivotal moments.”

Joel Oxley, President of WTOP News and Federal News Network, added, “We remain committed to delivering reliable, insightful reporting to the federal community and look forward to continuing this legacy.”

Federal News Network provides non-partisan coverage of federal workforce issues, management, acquisition, the Defense Department and IT, helping executives make better decisions and meet their mission goals.
