16th annual Project Down & Dirty raises money for Minnesota charities
Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN – myTalk 107.1’s Project Down & Dirty – Airport raised $132,000 for four Minnesota charities.
Project Down & Dirty is an annual fundraiser where the myTalk hosts and producers are challenged to produce an event or immerse themselves in a project to raise money for local charities. Past Project Down & Dirty events have included PD&D Dance, PD&D The Musical, PD&D Comedy, PD&D Zookeeper and PD&D Construction. In 16 years myTalk 107.1’s Project Down & Dirty has raised over $1,567,000 for Minnesota charities.
This year’s Project Down & Dirty was themed PD&D Airport. The entire programming staff moved to the Intercontinental Hotel located at the MSP Airport and for three days broadcasted live and learned jobs at the airport, including gate agents, baggage handling, pet therapy and the managing duty-free shops.
Four Minnesota charities benefited from the fundraiser: Wishes and More, Jack’s Basket, Tubman and MSP Airport Foundation.
“For three days the staff of myTalk 107.1 donated their time to work at the MSP airport, tell important stories about the people that work there, and entertain and inform myTalkers,” commented Brand and Content Director, Amy Daniels. “Most importantly, they brought to life our four charity partners. Their missions, their people and the love and humanity they bring to the Twin Cities. The Twin Cities is a place we all love – and I heard from listeners on Friday that the airport and the stories you told made them all walk a little taller and feel proud to live in this place.”
Dan Seeman, President and Minnesota Region Manager for Hubbard | Media That Connects added, “myTalk 107.1 demonstrated the power of radio once again this year when they hosted their 16th annual Project Down & Dirty. Special thanks to the myTalk hosts and producers who give up three days to move to a hotel and immerse themselves in a PD&D project. I can tell you that it has a direct effect on making lives better for our listeners and fans in Minnesota.
