Purple Daily wins first ever Service To America Award for a Podcast

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN – SKOR North’s Purple Daily, a podcast produced by Hubbard | Media That Connects, was the recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Award for Original Content Podcast. Purple Daily was recognized for their work raising funds for Annunciation Catholic School’s grief counseling and mental health program following a school shooting that killed two students in August of 2025. Also in 2025, SKOR North and Purple Daily raised money for First Tee, Youth on Course and The Bond Between.
The award was presented to SKOR North’s Dan Seeman, Phil Mackey, Declan Goff and Ross Brendel by United States Senator Amy Klobuchar.
“To win the first even Service to America award for a podcast was an incredible honor,” commented Senior Director of Content Phil Mackey. “At SKOR North we know that sports are a reflection of the community. In Minnesota that means volunteerism and community service.”
President and Region Manager Minnesota Dan Seeman commented, “For over 100 years Hubbard Broadcasting has been serving the communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and the entire state of Minnesota. Podcasting is the natural evolution to our commitment to entertain, inform and serve. Like our broadcast brands, SKOR North and Purple Daily reflect Hubbard’s core value of community service.”
